What is HAPAC? A tool for education. HAPAC is a non-profit, non-partisan political action committee. HAPAC provided the state's healthcare workers a link, and more importantly, a voice, both at the state and federal levels. HAPAC is regulated by the South Carolina Ethics Commission and operates in compete compliance with state and federal election laws.
HAPAC promotes responsible gover nment by educating and supporting political candidates for the SC General Assembly and statewide officers who are committed to quality healthcare services. It provides a vehicle through which hospital employees can more effectively participate in the political process. Your support also enables us to compete against other advocacy groups to secure our share of state funding when monies are available. The HAPAC Board is made up of hospital leaders from across the state. The Board determines whether or not a candidate receives financial support based on disbursement criteria. The criteria developed are based on each candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, sensitivity and responsiveness to healthcare issues and positions. HAPAC membership levels: A thank-you for your voice Members receive invitations to special events, thank you gifts, the quarterly HAPAC Notes newsletter, the weekly Pulse newsletter, political election updates and special recognition in SCHA and HAPAC publications and at important SCHA leadership events. Most important, you’ll be a member of the team of health care leaders working together to improve health care in South Carolina!
